We are excited to announce that in 2025, Wednesday Club celebrates 30 years of business women networking in Worcestershire!
I am also pleased to advise that at our third event of 2025, we will be welcoming Nicola Matthews, Founder of Sienna-X as our guest speaker. Her talk is entitled:
“From Sky High to Fly High” – How Nicola Matthews Built a Beauty Empire From a Pop-Up Tent.
Nicola Matthews didn’t start out in beauty—she was flying high as international air hostess with British Airways, living the dream and circling the globe. But when motherhood called, she needed a career that grounded her—literally. With 2 toddlers and a spark of entrepreneurial spirit, Nicola picked up a spray tan gun and changed her life forever.
What started as a mobile tanning side hustle soon became something bigger. A lightbulb moment—watching her kids play in a pop-up tent—led to the invention of the now-patented mobile spray tan booth, an industry-first, all while pregnant with baby number three.
Fast forward 21 years: Nicola is the founder of Sienna X, a multi-million pound professional and retail beauty brand trusted by salons, celebs, press and consumers. She’s faced rejection, self-doubt, and the chaos of juggling business and a family—but she’s built an empire in a fiercely competitive industry.
In this talk, Nicola will lift the lid on her real journey—how she turned a £20k investment into a national brand, the biggest mistakes she made (and what they taught her), and why belief, resilience, reinvention, and a bit of cheeky confidence are her secret weapons.
Expect inspiration, honesty, and a few laughs—plus the mindset shifts that helped Nicola go from pop-up tents to powering one of the UK’s top professional beauty brands.
The event is being hosted by The Twisted Spoon’s brand new venue in Friar Street, Worcester and will commence at 3.30 pm.

The Twisted Spoon is located in the heart of the historic city of Worcester and is situated approximately half way along Friar Street, opposite Greyfriars House. You can find directions on Google Maps
The nearest car parks are NCP Cathedral Car Park or Claire Street Car Park (Ringo).
