The Cotswold Auction Company – Liz Poole

The Cotswold Auction Company was founded in 1998 by Liz Poole and Lindsey Braune, the 2 of them had already worked together for many years building the auction department in a Cotswold general practise.

Liz trained in Fine Arts Valuation at Southampton Institute and qualified in 1988 with the Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers. She is a Fellow of the RICS and after 38 years still loves the excitement of discovering new items. She spends her working days carrying out valuations for probate, auction and insurance, cataloguing antiques, jewellery, modern art, silver, textiles and other interesting objects. As Liz lives in Worcester she is often visiting properties and meeting clients in the area as well as the Cotswolds and beyond.  Research is one of her favourite tasks and taking to the rostrum to start auctioneering still gives her a thrill.

The Cotswold Auction company are leading Specialist Auctioneers and Valuers in Cirencester and Cheltenham.  They are an RICS regulated firm of Chartered Arts and Antiques Surveyors.  Varied specialist auctions are held at both salerooms and lots are sold to a worldwide audience with live online and in-person bidding.

Louise Hookham – PKF Smith Cooper

Louise Hookham is Business Recovery and Insolvency Director at business advisory firm PKF Smith Cooper. With over 30 years of experience in the Insolvency industry, Louise specialises in corporate insolvency and prides herself in delivering solutions to Directors and current business advisors.

Louise has successfully rescued businesses in the engineering, leisure, building and hospitality sectors amongst many others, and is well known in the industry for her kind and compassionate approach to her clients.

Outside of her professional life, Louise partakes in local voluntary work. She enjoys rugby, especially the Six Nations, and spends a lot of time outside in her garden growing her own fruit and vegetables.

Sophie Howard – Crowthers Chartered Accountants

Sophie is our Head of Agriculture and Twyning Director and joined the Firm in 2002. Sophie specialises in farming clients and their diversified businesses. She has a specialist team dealing with farming services and we are one of the very few specialist agricultural firms of accountants in the area. Sophie was brought up on a farm so has an understanding of the challenges that farming clients face. In her spare time Sophie enjoys spending time with her two children who are often on the football pitch or on a pony!

Bumblebee Cottage – Self Catering Holiday Cottage

Bumblebee cottage is a detached self-catering holiday cottage set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, located between Berrow and Birtsmorton.

It is a ‘home from home’ run by Andrea, Mike & Zoë Palmer. The cottage sleeps 3 people in 2 bedrooms with an additional sofa bed available in the lounge.

The cottage has a double bedroom on the first floor and a single bedroom and shower room on the ground floor. Equipped to a high standard with an open plan lounge/diner, fully fitted kitchen including microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, laundry facilities, TV and shared garden.

We are just over 2 miles from M50 Junction 2 and within walking distance of our local pub, The Duke of York, Berrow.

Being in the countryside, here at Bumblebee cottage we love animals and have space for 1 well-behaved pet to stay. If you’re lucky, you may even spot some horses or a chicken or two during your stay with us!

Lucy Wells – Fundraising Director – Worcestershire Community Foundation

Lucy Wells is Fundraising Director of local charitable hub Worcestershire Community Foundation. Before joining the Foundation, Lucy worked in publishing in London and overseas; her career changed direction and became fundraising oriented from 2003. She has completed the National Arts Fundraising School, and also has an MA in marketing.

Since relocating to the area, Lucy spent 12 years at the helm of the fundraising team at The Courtyard Arts Centre in Hereford; she now works part-time at WCF and also runs her own business offering business development consultancy mainly within the third sector locally and regionally.

Lucy is really happy to be part of WCF at an exciting time, when locally based charities face many challenges but there is also huge potential to make difference; WCF is in a great position to support a broad spectrum of Worcestershire’s communities depending on where real needs lie within the county.

WCF is currently supporting older people, young people, women & girls, the arts and mental health through a range of different funds and programmes. Later in 2019, the Charity plans to launch a new Mental Health Fund which will focus on young people’s mental health issues, working with key partners across Worcestershire.

Hussingtree Gin.  Inspired in Worcestershire.

Our aim is to create distinctive premium distilled gin, inspired by the array of wonderful produce available in our home county of Worcestershire.

Hussingtree Gin is owned and run by three gin loving family members – husband and wife Richard and Elaine, and Duncan, Elaine’s son.

Our brand takes its name from the village where Elaine and Richard live – Martin Hussingtree, just north of Worcester.  The name reflects both our heritage and one of our core values – the importance of ‘local’.

From the Hussingtree name comes the ‘H’ within the stylised roundel, which is an important part of our visual branding.

Our first distilled gin is Hussingtree Juneberry Gin which is launching in July 2018, shortly followed by our distilled plum gin that will be launched in August at the Pershore Plum Festival.  Our range of gins will continue to evolve as we move through the seasons of the year.

Tricia Cavell

Fundraising Director Tricia Cavell has been in the charity sector for over 20 years and the hospice movement since 2001 having entered the profession from a career in banking and finance.

Tricia joined St Richard’s Hospice as Fundraising Manager at an exciting and challenging time with the need to grow hospice revenue income and awareness alongside the launch of a new hospice appeal. She was appointed to Fundraising Director in 2011.

Tricia is a member of the Institute of Fundraising (IofF)  and  has spoken at national conferences on the competitive advantage that collaborative working can bring to hospice income generation.  Tricia  has a Masters degree in Hospice Leadership.

WMRSASC is a free, confidential and non-judgemental support service for survivors who have experienced rape, assault, incest, sexual abuse, sexual harassment or any form of sexual attack, whether physical, verbal or emotional. The trauma caused by sexual abuse may not surface for many years after the event. We treat all calls equally, sensitively and confidentially, appreciating the courage required to break silence, overcome guilt and threats, and share the events of the past whether they happened days or years ago.

Services available are face to face support, a telephone helpline and Independent Sexual Violence Advisors. The Telephone helplines: 01905 724514 (Worcestershire) or 01432 344777 (Herefordshire) are open Monday and Thursday 7.30pm – 9.30pm, Tuesday 1.00pm – 5.00pm and Friday 10.00am – 2.00pm. WMRSASC can also provide training on the specialist area of rape and sexual abuse for both the voluntary and statutory sectors.
