Wednesday Club Networking Event – RAF Defford, Worcester on 16th May 2018

May 16, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

£17.50 – £22.50

Our next event we will be taking a tour of RAF Defford at National Trust Croome Estate and learning the CRUCIAL role played by over 600 women at RAF Defford during the War.

Some of the Second World War buildings, once the Sick Quarters for the RAF Defford airbase, still remain and have been restored as Croome’s visitor centre and museum.

The museum reveals the once secret story of RAF Defford being the site where radar was developed in the Second World War with wartime artefacts, emotive personal possessions, videos and costume displays. We will be provided with never heard before stories from three current volunteers who have been undertaking outreach and research with women and their families who worked at RAF Defford during the War.
